DMV stopped issuing DL based on EAD card in Virginia. I guess it will be same for TX and other states. You need original I485 receipt to get one year extensiton. EAD no more valid document for extension.

Sorry to say this is gone case. Try exploring the option of filing another I-140with the other approved labor you have. Also, make sure that labor has provisions to make your new I-140 approvable. Otherwise, you will be hitting against the wall twice!!

I just got my wife's h4 approval letter today but the I-94 does not have any validity period on it, its blank?? Moreover, We received two more i539 approval notices sames as my wifes without any validity period under my wife's name (Applicant)... beneficiary were for two kids age 9,11 totally different last names/Nationality :confused: Are the CSC processing people smoking something:eek:
I will call them tomorrow, I was wondering if anyone else also had this experience, do we have to travel outside the country to get I-94 stamped? my H1B approval has not arrived yet but the status online says approved. Our old I-94 on the passport have already expired, will that be a problem?

During this process of recession why USCIS does not help the economy by hiring more employees or contractors and issuing green cards. However, green card guys may think of buying houses and improve economy.
Is it a good idea to request Obama, USCIS to employ more peoples(decrease unemployment), process work faster, and let the green card guys invest money in US to improve economy.

Hello,
okay thanks for your replies..let me reiterate my situation.
I have an Indian passport and I recently got my conditional GC (based on marriage to a USC).I am currently on a holiday in Australia .I got my single entry,3month visit visa to Australia,which was stamped across"Not valid for further travel" at the Sydney airport.
Now my concern..I need to visit India in Sep and I was wondering if I could leave for India and return to Australia without having to apply for a visit visa again,now that I have my GC.
Do I need to apply for visitor visa again to enter Australia ,eventhough I have a US GC (which enables anyone travel any country without a visa) and Indian passport.
Please help answer my question....

As a quadruple renewer, let me share with you that the date on the EAD is from the point at which it is approved. You lose some time each year. Between myself and my wife we have had 8 and it has been the same each time.

My company gave ma a substitution labor and it is having a problem in term of degree.
My I-485 is also pending based on that I-140.
1. Is it possible to apply new labor and I-140 in premium processing and use that new I-140 for previously applied I-485?
2. In substitution labor that person was having 4 years of Bachelor degree and I have 3 years of bachelor degree, lawyer said there is a chance for get approval for I-140 based on substitution labor.
Please advice.

I still don't have my GC(based on an Engineering position) but took up a managerial position within the same organization.. IMO, its a risk worth taking.. If I were you, I would take the new position, switch over to EAD and not apply for the H1B extension..

At this point no one knows answers to you questions. We have to wait and we will see. Ultimately, USCIS could avoid lots of headaches by accepting all July applications and issuing a new bulletin for August...but we don't know, and nobody knows what will eventually happen.
There is no way USCIS can accept July applications. They said there is no visa available for FY-2007. Now how they will accept more applications? Basis on what? If they accept applications that means they had enough visa available but they did not want to process in which case the a law suit is imminent.

Company A - EB3 � PD Nov 2004.
Company B - EB2 � PD Feb 2007.
In July-2007 I applied 485 Using Company A EB3. In Apr-2008 I moved to Company B and In Feb 2009 my attorney sent an interfiling request to change the category on my EB3 case to EB2.
My attorney also told that, in general this kind of update look complex to the USCIS people and ignore the request.
If that happens then the next thing is to let our senator or congress man call to USCIS and request them to show more attention on that interfiling request. And you should do this after 3 months after sending the interfiling request.
One question, did you received the same alien number on both the I-140s or not? In my case my alien numbers are also different.
Also as of today I did not know whether my interfiling is success or not. The only way I will know about it is by calling the service center, which I haven�t done yet.
My attorney has confidence that we can get the category changed.
Also as mmrao2007 specified, my attorniey also sent the documents with a covering letter with a colored paper and big bold letters on top, explaining the case and related case numbers.
